About The OpportunityWe're seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator to set up, operate, and monitor our Computer Numerical Control operations in Northbrook, IL. This role requires hands‑on technical expertise to meet the standards required by our customers. The CNC Machine Operator plays a key role in ensuring high‑quality output and safe work practices through efficiency and accuracy.
Location: 3411 Woodhead Dr, Northbrook, IL 60062
What You’ll Do Technical Operations- Read and comprehend blueprints, technical drawings, and additional job instructions.
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines according to work orders and specifications.
- Ensure raw materials are loaded correctly and verify tooling setup to ensure proper machine functionality.
- Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maximize output quality and productivity.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean workstation.
- Troubleshoot machine issues, deviations, or safety concerns with shift supervisor.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to ensure they meet standards.
- Implement and maintain FOD (Foreign Object Debris) control procedures critical to aviation/aerospace work.
- Enforce strict safety protocols for composite dust collection, PPE requirements, and machine guarding.
- Maintain detailed production records and quality documentation for traceability.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on new product introductions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies in composite machining and aerospace manufacturing.
- Identify opportunities to reduce cycle times, improve tool life, and minimize material waste.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of hands‑on CNC machine operation experience (required).
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong understanding of precision measuring tools and inspection techniques.
- Possess great attention to detail, quality focus, and safety.
- Adequate math and problem‑solving skills.

Climate‑controlled manufacturing facility with state‑of‑the‑art CNC equipment. The role requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50lbs, and working in an environment with noise and exposure to composite dust (proper PPE provided). Some flexibility for shift coverage may be required.
