Associate Attorney – Business Litigation About the Role

We are seeking a sharp and detail-oriented Business Litigation Associate to join our team. This is not a heavy trial role — instead, the focus is on drafting, motion practice, research, negotiation, and case strategy in commercial disputes. You’ll work closely with partners and clients on matters that include contract disputes, shareholder/partnership disagreements, and other complex business litigation.

• Draft motions, pleadings, discovery requests, responses, and settlement agreements.
• Handle depositions, hearings, and client meetings as needed (minimal trial work).
• Develop litigation strategies, focusing on efficient resolutions and strong written advocacy
  .
• Analyze contracts, corporate records, and financial documents to support case arguments.
• Negotiate settlements and manage cases through mediation, arbitration, or disposition.
• Collaborate with partners to provide clear, practical legal advice to business clients.

• 3–8 years of litigation experience, ideally with exposure to commercial or business disputes
  .
• Strong writing, drafting, and analytical skills — ability to turn complex facts into persuasive arguments.
• Comfortable managing cases independently while working as part of a team.
• Licensed to practice in Illinois, in good standing.
• Trial experience is a plus, but not required — this is a paper-heavy, strategy-driven role
