- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, IT, or related field.
- 5+ years of category sourcing experience (software, hardware, IT services).
The IT Category Manager leads strategic sourcing for enterprise technology across UL Solutions. This role partners with IT, Finance, Legal, Cybersecurity, and business leaders to source hardware, software, SaaS, and managed services that align with business goals and the long-term technology roadmap. The position manages complex, high-value negotiations while driving cost savings, risk mitigation, and policy compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead global IT sourcing across software, hardware, SaaS, managed services, and IT professional services.
- Own end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFx, negotiations, renewals, and contract execution.
- Develop sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings, value, and acceptable risk.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships; consolidate vendors and buying power.
- Support governance approvals and sourcing-related business cases.
- Partner cross-functionally as a trusted sourcing advisor.
- Analyze spend data to guide sourcing decisions and strategy.
- Ensure compliance with Global Sourcing policies.
- Prepare and present sourcing strategies and results to senior and C‑suite leaders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, IT, or related field.
- 5+ years of IT category sourcing experience (software, hardware, IT services).
- Experience negotiating with major vendors (Oracle, Microsoft, Salesforce, Service Now preferred).
- Experience with IT consulting firms (e.g., Accenture, Infosys) preferred.
- Strong commercial contracting and sourcing best practices knowledge.
- Proven ability to deliver sustainable cost savings.
- Advanced Excel and strong financial analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and executive-level presentation skills.
- CPM, CPSM, or PMP certification a plus.
