The PBM Finance Transformation Team is seeking a Senior Manager to innovate how we perform key finance activities such as budgeting & forecasting, recording actuals, variance analysis, and client billing. This role focuses on internal PBM efforts to enhance the technology behind financial operations and planning.
ResponsibilitiesLeverage close connections with Finance business partners in the PBM to facilitate systems‑based solutioning across three major areas:
- Financial Planning for Caremark & Specialty budget & forecast models – Build complex bottoms‑up analytical models to generate budget data for all parts of the P&L in Specialty & Caremark down to margin.
- Management Reporting – Create tools that enable highly detailed reporting of Caremark & Specialty actuals.
- Operations – Lead key SAP system migration and other activities to improve financial operations.
Act as the key liaison among IT, PBM Finance, and PMO organizations to ensure steady progress on deliverables.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with program stakeholders to build relationships, communicate progress, elicit feedback, and manage expectations.
- Create and manage the program roadmap and measure execution against it.
- Advise colleagues on program impacts related to new products and strategies.
- Participate in program intake and prioritization to ensure focus on the most impactful work.
- Execute program initiatives, fulfill OKRs jointly established with leadership, and report on those OKRs and other metrics.
- Participate in program budgeting processes and ensure the program budget is used appropriately.
- Build business cases and sizing for any efforts that require additional funding.
- Manage program risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies.
- Oversee creation of documentation related to included finance transformation business processes.
- Coordinate with external vendors, internal partners, and IT to ensure successful project delivery.
- Facilitate training and development opportunities for team members to improve their skills and knowledge.
- Review requirements documents for completeness prior to approval by business stakeholders.
This role offers flexible, work‑from‑home options and can be based remotely in the U.S. or near one of the following corporate hubs: IL‑Northbrook, TX‑Irving, CT‑Hartford, AZ‑Scottsdale, RI‑Cumberland. Candidates excelling at least two days a week in the office for commutable locations are required.
Required Qualifications- 7+ years of relevant work experience.
- 5+ years with financial planning for budget & forecast models.
- 3+ years of finance management reporting.
- 3+ years of finance operations experience.
- Experience in the healthcare industry, including health insurance, PBM or pharmacy services.
- Experience in highly regulated industry and compliance environment.
- Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, repeatable, systems‑based solutions.
- Experience working with IT partners to deploy production‑level solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey ideas in both technical and user‑friendly language.
- Strong working knowledge of Office 365 applications.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, master’s degree preferred.
Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is $75,400.00 – $. This represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography and other factors. The position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the specified base pay range and includes an equity award target.
