We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our Security/Signaling team at our modern facility in Northbrook, IL. In this hands-on role, you will work directly with cutting-edge technology and contribute to testing and evaluating security systems. This position is fully onsite with a schedule of Monday through Friday, offering a great opportunity to collaborate with a skilled team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

* Higher Secondary Education plus three years related experience preferred.

* Radio frequency (RF) or electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) experience are a plus!

* Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers.

* Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.

* Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must.

* Ability to incorporate automation into day-to-day testing.

Total Rewards:
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career . The estimated salary range for this position is $42,000 to $56,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary.

This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).

* Responsible for the setup, scheduling, and performance of equipment and test dates/setups for clients in alignment with the project handler.

* Builds and/or adapts setup and test equipment for performance of tests.

* Examines test samples and reads blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, measuring instruments, and operational instructions.

* Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results.

* Records and explains test results and completes test report.

* Communicates with customers and/or project handlers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.

* Autonomously operates designated machines and special laboratory equipment.

* Performs routine maintenance/verification of designated test equipment and laboratory area.

* Reads and understands specific test standards and testing technology in order to set up tests with necessary supervision/support.

* Initiates recommendations for new equipment designs and recommends solutions to observed test problems.

* Operates with minimal supervision within defined limits of responsibility.

* Records observed or calculated data on appropriate UL forms and populates data sheets and test reports.

* Integrates basic continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
