Job Summary
Josselyn, a nonprofit community mental health center, serves clients across several Northern Cook and Lake County locations. The Floater Client Access Specialist is the first point of contact, providing a welcoming environment while combining front desk reception with intake support. Although based in the Northbrook office, this role covers Grayslake, Waukegan, Highland Park, and Northbrook.
ScheduleThis Monday–Friday position rotates Saturday. Candidates must work all shifts:
- Opening Shift: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Mid Shift: 11 AM – 7 PM
- Closing Shift: 1 PM – 9 PM
- Saturday (rotating) Shift: 9 AM – 2 PM
Hourly Rate: $18 – $18.87 ($32,760 – $35,252) based on experience.
Essential Responsibilities And Metrics- Greet and check in clients and visitors with professionalism and warmth.
- Collect client copayments at check‑in, issue receipts, and manage accurate billing documentation.
- Monitor missed payments, maintain records, and notify the assigned clinician.
- Answer incoming calls, direct inquiries, and provide accurate service information.
- Complete in‑person opening paperwork by scanning, uploading, and updating the EHR promptly.
- Process walk‑in clients efficiently, ensuring timely service and documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information per HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff for coordinated client care.
- Monitor waiting areas, keeping them clean, safe, and welcoming.
- Support additional administrative tasks as needed, including mail handling, supply ordering, and general office support.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior receptionist experience in behavioral health or related healthcare field.
- HIPAA compliance experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Zoom. - Consistent, reliable, professional dress and manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Coverage across Northbrook, Highland Park, Grayslake, and Waukegan required.
