Description
Are you ready to help Amazon deliver world‑class service in its transportation operations? As a Transportation Associate you will perform trailer moves in the trailer yard, coordinate yard activities such as checking in trailers, traffic flow, internal communications with operations, conduct yard audits, complete driver training programs (Hostler, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) School, etc.), and operate multiple vehicle types to support Amazon’s transportation network.

- Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations and enforcing safety measures and policies for all who operate vehicles on behalf of Amazon and those who enter the yard, including vendors and senior team members.
- Perform various functions within the yard, support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers to ensure all trailers arrive and depart on time with zero defects and maintain workflow for buildings.
- Be professionally trained to operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non‑public roads or in yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations.
- Learn Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and comply with company policies and DOT procedures (size, weight, route designations, parking, trailer designations, violation and incident reporting requirements, break periods, etc.).
- Complete driver vehicle inspection reports on equipment and notify managers of any maintenance or delivery issues.
- Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks in compliance with Amazon policy and federal/state regulations, adhere to yard safety policies, obey all applicable traffic laws, and drive in accordance with weather/road conditions.
- Support the business as needed by serving as a peer trainer or working at nearby site locations within the area.
- Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck using approved equipment (pallet jack, etc.).
- Opportunity to work outside and drive different commercial motor vehicles in the yard and over the road.
- Exposure to different Amazon site types including NACF, NASC, Air, AMZL & AMXL.
- Long‑term growth potential via comprehensive training in transportation with Amazon.
- Dependent on business need, may have the opportunity to earn a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) paid for by Amazon.
- Hold a valid and active driver’s license.
- High school or equivalent diploma.
- Be 21 years or older and able to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines in English.
- Can lift up to 49 pounds; stand and walk during shifts up to 12 hours; frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach and ascend/descend stairs.
- Work 40 hours per week, with overtime as required.
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with diverse audiences.
- Experience building strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and outside vendors.
- A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Completion of Career Choice Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Course.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.

The starting pay for this position is $26.00 USD hourly. As a total‑compensation company, you are eligible for additional earnings including overtime pay and performance bonuses.
