External Reporting Manager

A publicly traded global company in Greater Boston is seeking a Manager, SEC Reporting to join their team. This position is open due to a promotion.

The Manager will own the SEC reporting process and bring a strong technical accounting background (GAAP expert) that will enable this individual to navigate a complex organization. The successful candidate will be results-driven, detail-oriented, and an exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal and leadership skills and dedication to continuous improvement.

• Lead the end-to-end SEC financial reporting process, including the preparation, review, and filing of Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
• Own the SEC reporting calendar and coordinate timelines by partnering closely with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Investor Relations, and external advisors.
• Serve as a key participant in Disclosure Committee meetings, driving thoughtful discussion and ensuring complete, accurate, and compliant financial disclosures.
• Support accounting and financial reporting aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other complex or non-routine transactions.
• Act as the primary liaison with the external auditors (Big4), coordinating quarterly reviews and the annual audit process.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
• 8+ years of relevant experience, including in public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm experience required)
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting and disclosure requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and geographic locations.
• Strong analytical and judgment skills, with a demonstrated ability to navigate complex accounting and reporting matters.
• Hands‑on, proactive, and collaborative professional who is comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy, quality, and attention to detail.
