Maintenance Leader - Blending, Forming and Press Area
Lead and coordinate all maintenance activities within the Blending, Forming, and Press segment of the OSB manufacturing process. The role maximizes equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and ensures safe and efficient operation.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise the maintenance team dedicated to the blending, forming, and press equipment.
- Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans tailored to blending, forming, and press machinery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues specific to the blending systems, forming lines, and press operations.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with production leadership to plan maintenance schedules that minimize impact on production goals.
- Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance budgets for the blending, forming, and press area.
- Implement root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects to increase equipment uptime and efficiency.
- Train and mentor maintenance personnel on specialized equipment and safety protocols related to the blending, forming, and press processes.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and generate reports on equipment performance and maintenance activities.
- Proven experience in maintenance leadership within a manufacturing or wood products environment, preferably in OSB or panel manufacturing.
- Strong technical knowledge of blending equipment, forming lines, and hydraulic and mechanical presses.
- Expertise in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in blending, forming, and press operations.
- Ability to lead and develop a team in a fast‑paced, safety‑focused environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and reliability tools.
- Certifications or training in industrial maintenance, hydraulics, or electrical systems.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Understanding of safety regulations including OSHA and industry best practices.
