Salary: £21 Umb Per hour (£17 PAYE)
Contract length: 4 Months initially

Are you detail-oriented, organised, and passionate about helping vulnerable adults? We are working on behalf of West Northamptonshire Council and looking for a Financial Assessment Officer to join their Adult Social Care team.
This is a dynamic role, combining financial expertise, customer service, and collaboration with social care colleagues to support adults in residential and community care settings.

What You’ll Do
Carry out financial assessments and reassessments for adults receiving care, ensuring compliance with the Care Act 2014 and council policy.
Provide advice and assistance on welfare benefits to maximise income for service users and the Council.
Work closely with social workers, hospital staff, and service users, often in pressured or sensitive environments.
Identify, escalate, and respond to safeguarding concerns where necessary.
Maintain accurate records and case notes in financial and care systems.
Support service improvements, including new systems, process changes, and staff training.
Mentor colleagues and contribute to a customer-focused, high-performing team.

Who We’re Looking For
Someone with strong numerical and data skills, confident using Excel and financial systems.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with vulnerable adults.
A proactive and adaptable professional, able to balance multiple tasks and work independently.
Commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable people.
