Business Development Manager – Construction Security
Salary: £37k a year with uncapped commission
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and driven Business Development Manager to spearhead growth in the construction security sector, specialising in integrated security solutions. This field/office based role requires strong B2B sales skills, on-the-road prospecting, and end-to-end sales management, from initial contact to project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and target construction companies, contractors, and site managers for security solutions.
- Conduct on-the-road prospecting and cold visits to construction sites and offices.
- Arrange and attend face‑to‑face meetings with decision‑makers.
- Build long‑term relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor for their security needs.
- Undertake detailed site surveys to assess security requirements.
- Recommend tailored solutions, including mobile CCTV towers and integrated security systems.
- Prepare and deliver accurate quotes and proposals.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to contract signing and handover.
- Stay informed on construction security trends and competitor offerings.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross‑selling additional security services.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and forecasts.
- Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in B2B sales, ideally within construction security or related sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Mobile CCTV Units, IP CCTV systems, access control, and integrated security solutions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel extensively.
- Full UK driving license.
- Self‑motivated and target‑driven.
- Strong technical understanding of security systems.
- Exceptional relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to deliver under pressure and meet deadlines.
