Overview
Emergency Care within the NHS is fast paced, acute and constantly evolving. Our Emergency Departments provide care to patients presenting with a wide range of urgent and emergency conditions, requiring confident nursing assessment, sound clinical knowledge and skills and compassionate leadership. As a Senior Registered Nurse (Band
6), you will play a key leadership role within the department and have the opportunity to lead and coordinate clinical areas, including (but not limited to):
- Initial Assessment and Triage
- Emergency Department Majors
- Resuscitation and Trauma
- Emergency Department Minors
- Continuing Care Areas
- You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred emergency care, while supporting patient flow and operational delivery
- Band 6 Nurses are actively supported to develop nursing expertise across all emergency care areas
- Build leadership and management capabilities
- Contribute to the day-to-day leadership of teams including Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and wider support staff
- Act as a visible nursing presence and role model
- Support improvement, safety initiatives and service development
