Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Nurse to join us in the Cath Lab/Heart Centre Team. We are a busy department with 2 Cath Labs and a 9 bedded recovery area managing both elective and acute inpatient procedures. These include Angiogram, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, Rotabalation, orbital, IVL, Permanent Pacemaker Insertion, and Cardiac Re‑synchronisation Device insertion.

In addition to supporting the Cath Lab pre and post procedurally the Recovery area also manages DCCV, DSE, TOE, bubble echo, ILR insertion and nurse‑led pre‑assessments.

Cardiology or theatre experience is essential as this post is for a Cath lab circulatory/scrub nurse and must be able to wear leads.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high quality care to cardiology patient group either within the acute hospital. They are responsible for the assessment, development, delivery and evaluation of evidence‑based individualised patient care within the boundaries of their role.

The post holder will contribute to the continuing development of standards of care including developments of nursing standards and monitoring of outcomes. The post holder will be expected to continue with their own professional development.

The post‑holder will be involved in meeting the physical and psycho‑social needs of the patients within the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory and Recovery Area. The post holder may also be required to co‑ordinate the running of the labs on a daily basis.
