Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Shift Engineer with an electrical bias to join our Engineering team, based in our factory in Crick, Northampton. Annual salary of £53,028, 42 hours per week, 4 on 4 off (Days and Nights 12 hour shifts on rotation). Hourly rate with overtime, paid monthly.
Key Responsibilities- Perform planned and predictive maintenance of equipment and complete ad hoc repairs in a timely manner, prioritising works in line with site priorities to maintain efficient production.
- Assess the need for spares by ensuring the critical spares list is up to date and stock is at the required levels.
- Escalate any issues in a timely manner to the Engineering Manager.
- Ensure a safe environment by conducting all servicing and maintenance activities with minimal risk to employees, products and equipment.
- Champion safety and use root‑cause analysis on breakdowns to identify actions and drive completion of actions to prevent re‑occurrence.
- Support the energy reduction and sustainability agenda to reduce environmental impacts across the site by ensuring all actions are completed.
- Participate in daily and weekly review sessions to drive improvement throughout the site.
- Qualified or time served in Electrical and Mechanical engineering disciplines.
- Experienced in the use and operation of CMMS.
- Reliability Management expertise (such as FMECA, RCM, Tribology, CBM, TPM).
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- NEBOSH with a sound knowledge of behavioural safety at a site level – desirable.
- Legionella and HACCP awareness – desirable.
- Experience in FMCG – desirable.
