Shift Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Shift Engineer with an electrical bias to join our Engineering team, based in our factory in Crick, Northampton. Annual salary of £53,028, 42 hours per week, 4 on 4 off (Days and Nights 12 hour shifts on rotation). Hourly rate with overtime, paid monthly.

• Perform planned and predictive maintenance of equipment and complete ad hoc repairs in a timely manner, prioritising works in line with site priorities to maintain efficient production.
• Assess the need for spares by ensuring the critical spares list is up to date and stock is at the required levels.
• Escalate any issues in a timely manner to the Engineering Manager.
• Ensure a safe environment by conducting all servicing and maintenance activities with minimal risk to employees, products and equipment.
• Champion safety and use root‑cause analysis on breakdowns to identify actions and drive completion of actions to prevent re‑occurrence.
• Support the energy reduction and sustainability agenda to reduce environmental impacts across the site by ensuring all actions are completed.
• Participate in daily and weekly review sessions to drive improvement throughout the site.

• Qualified or time served in Electrical and Mechanical engineering disciplines.
• Experienced in the use and operation of CMMS.
• Reliability Management expertise (such as FMECA, RCM, Tribology, CBM, TPM).
• Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• NEBOSH with a sound knowledge of behavioural safety at a site level – desirable.
• Legionella and HACCP awareness – desirable.
• Experience in FMCG – desirable.
