CNC Miller Setter Operator

Location: Northampton
Commutable from: Wellingborough, Daventry, Towcester, Kettering, Brackley
Pay: 16 - 21 per hour (negotiable DOE)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am - 2:00pm
Overtime available, including weekends

About the Company

Our client is a well-established engineering manufacturer based in Northampton. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit a CNC Miller Setter Operator to join their machining team. Company details will be shared at interview stage.

The Role

An experienced CNC Miller Setter Operator is required to set and operate 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling machines, producing high-quality components to specification while meeting production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling machines
• Prepare fixtures and tooling
• Run proven programs and adjust tool and work offsets
• Set tools and produce first-off components to quality standards
• Carry out first-off inspections using engineering drawings
• Maintain quality standards throughout production
• Ensure output meets agreed schedules
• Carry out routine machine maintenance
• Liaise with other departments when required
• Maintain 5S standards
• Support other shop-floor areas when needed

About You

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller Setter Operator
• Strong background in CNC milling
• Experience with FANUC and/or Heidenhain controls
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Confident using measuring equipment
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good time management and communication skills
• Eligible to work in the UK
