About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Safeguarding Team Manager to join our Childrens Services team. This is a pivotal leadership role where you will shape and drive safeguarding strategy across educational settings, ensuring vulnerable children receive the support they need to thrive.

• Lead and manage a team of safeguarding professionals with casework responsibilities.
• Be the strategic lead for safeguarding in education settings.
• Develop and implement policies and systems to monitor and improve safeguarding outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with partners including Ofsted, DfE, and strategic groups.
• Oversee responses to safeguarding complaints and assurance letters.
• Manage budgets and ensure financial stewardship across the service.

• Hold a Degree in Teaching, Social Work or Youth Work and be a Professional Qualification Teacher, Social Worker or Youth Worker.
• Have detailed knowledge of the legislative framework required to manage this service: KCSIE, Exclusion, Attendance, Children Missing from Education, Children who are Home Educated and Licensing, legislation, SEN Code of Practice 2014, Admissions Code.
• Have substantial and sustained experience of working with children and young people, particularly vulnerable children.
