We are recruiting a Sustainability Manager to join a well-established Social Housing Group based in Northampton.
As a Sustainability Manager, you will lead the organisation’s sustainability and energy strategy, ensuring homes meet environmental targets and comply with housing legislation. The Sustainability Manager will oversee retrofit initiatives, improve energy performance across housing stock and manage a team of 10 employees delivering sustainability programmes. This is a great opportunity for a Sustainability Manager with experience in social or domestic housing to drive decarbonisation projects and make a meaningful impact within a large housing portfolio.
The successful Sustainability Manager will work closely with asset management, compliance and housing teams to deliver sustainability improvements across the organisation.
What’s on offer:
Salary: £47,116 per annum
Working pattern:
Full-time (37 hours per week), hybrid working (2 days office-based in Northampton, remainder flexible)

Cycle to work scheme Sustainability Manager key responsibilities include:
Leading and managing a team of 10 sustainability and technical staff
Delivering sustainability and decarbonisation strategies across the housing portfolio
Overseeing retrofit and energy efficiency programmes to improve housing stock performance
Ensuring compliance with social housing legislation including EPC requirements and HHSRS
Working closely with asset management, compliance and housing teams to embed sustainability principles
Monitoring energy performance data and identifying opportunities for improvement
Managing relationships with contractors, consultants and external partners delivering retrofit programmes
Supporting funding bids, grant programmes and sustainability reporting requirements
Contributing to policy development and long-term environmental strategy
Projects will focus on improving the energy performance of homes through retrofit programmes, energy efficiency upgrades and sustainability initiatives that support residents and reduce carbon emissions.
The successful Sustainability Manager will have:
Experience working within social housing or domestic housing environments
Strong knowledge of social housing legislation and regulatory requirements including EPC and HHSRS
Experience or knowledge of retrofit programmes and energy efficiency improvements
Experience leading teams, projects or sustainability initiatives
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Desirable:
Degree in Building Studies, Surveying, Construction or a related discipline
This role would suit an experienced Sustainability Manager looking to take the next step in delivering sustainability strategy within the social housing sector.
