In this role you will lead the strategic direction of Council Tax, Business Rates, and Inspections, ensuring services run efficiently and in line with legislation. As the council’s expert on revenues you will oversee billing, recovery, and enforcement while driving innovation and maximising income by improving collection rates. Managing a £1.6m budget and a team of seven Team Leaders you will inspire high performance and champion digital solutions.

You will also play a key part in major projects such as revaluations and annual billing, and when required deputise for the Service Director.

You are a confident leader with deep expertise in Council Tax and Business Rates, ready to bring energy and vision to our revenues service. With a strong track record in managing change, driving performance, and shaping policy you thrive on solving complex challenges and inspiring teams to deliver their best. You will be IRRV Level 7 qualified and educated to degree level (or equivalent experience), with the ability to turn technical knowledge into clear, pragmatic advice that influences decisions.
