Are you an experienced HR professional looking to take ownership of varied, fast‑paced Employee Relations work in a supportive and collaborative environment? This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly engaged HR Shared Service team as an Employee Relations Advisor, providing expert guidance across a large, multi‑site organisation.
You’ll play a key role in delivering commercial, consistent and legally compliant ER advice, helping managers navigate complex situations with confidence. If you enjoy problem‑solving, coaching leaders and working in a dynamic environment, this role offers the perfect platform to grow.
What You’ll Be Doing- Providing professional, telephone‑based ER advice to colleagues, managers and senior leaders
- Coaching managers to achieve fair, balanced and commercially sound outcomes
- Managing a wide range of ER cases end‑to‑end, including disciplinaries, grievances, appeals and long‑term sickness
- Attending hearings for complex cases when required
- Ensuring all advice is impartial, consistent, legally compliant and aligned with company policy
- Identifying risks and advising on potential implications or costs
- Participating in weekend and bank holiday emergency phone cover (approx. seven times per year, with additional allowance)
You’ll begin with full office‑based training in Northampton, moving to a hybrid pattern (2–3 days in the office) once fully onboarded.
What We’re Looking For- Experience in a similar HR or ER advisory role
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels
- Confident handling sensitive or complex situations
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- A driving licence and access to transport
