Edgewood School is a new, ambitious and caring residential school that provides care and education for young people aged 7 – 16 with severe and complex communication and learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviours. The onsite children’s home is modern and vibrant and can build up, under your leadership, to accommodate 12 young people.
We are seeking a Registered Manager to continue to develop the provision to its full potential. The school offers fully individualised and inclusive education for day and residential children; therefore, the Registered Manager and the care team must work closely with education and therapy colleagues to provide a seamless service for children.
This senior role offers a fantastic opportunity in a stunning new provision, where you will be supported by a dedicated staff team. You will have autonomy and the flexibility to share and implement new creative ideas to further develop the service. You will also have the support from other Registered Managers and professionals across the SENAD Group. We work closely together and place great value on sharing good practice and supporting one another.
The successful candidate will effectively manage every aspect of the care provision and ensure an outstanding level of care and support for young people and their families. You will also be a champion for children’s rights and be able to hear their voice to ensure their needs are continually met.
You should have considerable experience of working with complex young people, such as those with a Learning Disability, Autism or mental health and in supporting staff to do so. You should also have relevant senior level care and inspection experience with a relevant Level 3 qualification and have achieved (or be willing to achieve) the L5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare.
We would love to welcome you to our team and will put in a support package for the right applicant, including coaching with a strong peer group and continuous professional development.
The SENAD Group is dedicated to equality of opportunity in all areas of work, education and care. We are also committed to safeguarding those in our care – all successful candidates will be required to apply an enhanced DBS check and will be subject to thorough background checks including online searches.
Call the school on and speak to the Head Teacher for an informal discussion and tour.
