Overview
We require an enthusiastic, hardworking person to join our Aseptic Services team. The post involves working in the Pharmacy Aseptic Services Unit and, on occasion, Pharmacy Quality Assurance. Liaises with staff in Aseptic Services, Quality Assurance and the Pharmacy Office. Provide effective input into the work of the Trust, to support the achievement of our vision and values.
Responsibilities- Assist with general Pharmacy housekeeping in accordance with the prioritised list of daily, weekly and monthly jobs in specialised cleaning areas, across the following areas:
- Aseptic Services Unit: specialised cleaning according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Quality Assurance: cleaning in the sterility test room; cleaning of incubators, fridge and glassware; packing items for the Sterile Services Unit.
- Assist with the following daily tasks:
- Photocopying for office including preparation of induction packs.
- Filing personal staff documents and aseptic records.
- Ensure stocks of cleaning equipment and chemicals are available.
- Other duties appropriate to your band as requested by Aseptic Services Unit, Office and QA staff.
- To assist in the provision of aseptically prepared intravenous cytotoxic drugs, including:
- Assembling drugs, diluents and consumables prior to aseptic dispensing.
- Assisting with decontamination of products from the support room and cleanroom, prior to preparation (spraying and wiping).
- Final packing and labeling of prepared items and passing them to the final checking stage.
- Charging medicines used to wards, clinics, etc., via the pharmacy computer system.
- Ensuring correct storage and stock rotation of all consumables and medicines.
- Assisting with expiry date and stock control checks.
- Attending department meetings and study days/training as requested to ensure ongoing professional development.
- Four GCSE qualifications at Grade C or above, including Maths and English, or proof of equivalency for overseas qualifications.
