Reed Finance is delighted to be partnering with a respected and purpose-driven not-for-profit organisation to recruit an experienced and forward-thinking Finance Manager on a part-time basis. This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to influence strategic direction while ensuring robust financial governance across a growing and impactful organisation.
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead the financial planning cycle, oversee statutory compliance, and provide clear, insightful financial information to support decision‑making at the highest level.
Duties Include:- Deliver an effective and accurate financial management and accountancy service to senior leadership and the Board.
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, monthly budget monitoring, and financial performance reporting.
- Support strategic planning by preparing financial forecasts and long‑term financial modelling.
- Maintain timely and compliant financial accounts aligned with external reporting standards.
- Provide monthly financial reporting and analysis to senior stakeholders, offering recommendations where required.
- Advise on financial matters including charity legislation, regulatory compliance, and statutory responsibilities.
- Oversee the monthly payroll process to ensure accurate and reliable delivery.
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, regulators, HMRC, and other professional bodies regarding all financial matters.
- Monitor investment performance and produce relevant reports to support future investment decisions.
- Ensure effective financial procedures, policies, and governance are in place and regularly reviewed.
- Lead, develop, and support finance staff and volunteers, fostering a high‑performing team.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
- Prior leadership or management experience within a finance function.
- Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulatory compliance.
- Experience preparing statutory returns.
- Highly proficient in Excel and financial systems (Sage experience highly desirable).
- Ability to provide authoritative financial advice to senior stakeholders.
- Experience in the charity, not-for-profit, or healthcare sector would be highly advantageous but not essential.
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with strong attention to detail.
