Agricultural Engineer – Full-time, Permanent

From £17.00 per hour (circa £37,000 per year based on 42 hours) + overtime
Company:
Barker Ross is recruiting for hands-on Agricultural Maintenance and Irrigation Engineer roles within a growing agricultural engineering business in Corby. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with mechanical experience and irrigation knowledge to join a practical, varied, and long-term role.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble machinery to customer specifications
  • Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI)
  • Service, maintain, and repair irrigation equipment and agricultural machinery
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults
  • Attend on-site breakdowns when required
  • Complete service documentation accurately
What We're Looking For
  • Hands-on experience with agricultural machinery or irrigation systems
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and practical skills
  • Proven ability to service and repair machinery or equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and practical problem-solving mindset
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable (Not Essential)
  • Engineering qualification (Agricultural, Mechanical, or similar)
  • Experience with irrigation systems or agricultural machinery
  • Basic hydraulic or electrical knowledge
  • Welding or fabrication experience
  • Forklift licence
Working Hours
  • Monday–Thursday: 08:00–17:00
  • Friday: 08:00–16:30
  • 42 hours per week
  • Overtime available
  • On-call rota required
