Training Delivery Instructor - Electrical

Electrical Engineering Specialist

Full‑time role, 37.5 hours a week on a term‑time only basis

HMS Sultan, Portsmouth

Eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level is required.

• Deliver training modules within Electrical Marine Engineering to the Royal Navy.
• Conduct both theory and practical training in Electrical Engineering.
• Maintain outstanding relationships with customers and within the Marine Engineering Electrical training area.
• Assist in maintaining and updating training documentation and assess student coursework to provide feedback on performance.
• Utilise best practice across the establishment to inform and direct quality and improvement activities across RN training.
• Assume duty of care and progression of training during the delivery phase.

• Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience within Electrical/Engineering.
• Proficient use of IT (hardware/software) in the workplace.
• Competent electrical practical/hand skills.

• Previous instructional experience in a military or civilian engineering environment.
• Level 4 Teaching Qualification / DTC Defence Trainer Course or equivalent.

This role is offered on a term‑time basis working 45 weeks per year, with non‑working weeks taken 2 weeks at Christmas and Easter and 3 weeks in August. Salary will therefore be pro‑rated and calculated to include contractual annual leave entitlement and bank holidays.
