As a Field Service Engineer, you will be instrumental in servicing and maintaining a diverse range of personal safety equipment and fixed gas detection systems. Your expertise will ensure compliance, reliability, and user confidence across client sites.
Key Responsibilities- Service and maintenance of portable gas detectors, SCBA, Escape Breathing apparatus, and fall arrest and lifting equipment.
- Set up and commissioning of new gas detection systems.
- Building trust-based relationships with clients and identifying additional safety equipment needs.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction to drive repeat business.
- Completing all relevant paperwork and updating the CRM database.
- Providing vital data for management reporting and supporting the workshop as needed.
- Minimum of 2 years’ proven engineering experience as a Field Service Engineer or a Static Engineer/Technician, ideally within the safety equipment industry.
- Background in utilities, engineering, or construction sectors preferred.
- Knowledge of fixed gas detection systems, SCBA equipment or lifting equipment is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in fault‑finding and effective decision‑making.
- Excellent customer service abilities with strong interpersonal skills to work with customers on their company premises.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to take initiative.
- Clear and confident communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Results‑driven, dynamic, and enthusiastic.
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Positive and adaptable attitude, comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.
