Inclusion Support Practitioner - Secondary School

Location: Northampton

Start Date: March 2026

Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential for Permanent Placement

Salary: Competitive (based on experience)

Do you believe every young person deserves to feel seen, supported, and included in their education?

Several inclusive and forward-thinking secondary schools across Northampton are seeking to appoint dedicated Inclusion Support Practitioners from March 2026. These schools serve diverse student communities, including pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism, and those at risk of disengagement or exclusion.

This is a high-impact, student-facing role‑perfect for someone passionate about inclusion, resilience, and restoring confidence in learners facing barriers to education.

Your Role Will Include:
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups to support students with additional needs or challenging behaviour
  • Delivering tailored interventions focused on emotional regulation, social development, and engagement
  • Building consistent, positive relationships with pupils who require additional support
  • Collaborating closely with SENDCos, pastoral teams, and external professionals
  • Acting as a trusted adult and advocate for students navigating complex personal or educational challenges
We're Looking For Someone Who:
  • Has a calm, empathetic, trauma‑informed approach to behaviour
  • Is deeply committed to inclusion and understands the importance of stability and routine
  • Has experience supporting young people in education, care, youth work, or similar settings
  • Is confident supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, or those at risk of exclusion
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one)
What You'll Gain:
  • A long‑term, full‑time position with genuine potential for permanent placement
  • The opportunity to build lasting relationships and make a measurable difference
  • Weekly pay with competitive rates
  • Access to over 2,500 accredited CPD courses through The National College, including trauma‑informed practice, restorative approaches, and mental health in schools
  • Ongoing support from experienced education consultants who understand your role and career goals

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to move into specialist education, mental health support, or therapeutic roles within schools.

If you're ready to champion inclusion, build trust, and help young people re‑engage with learning, we'd love to hear from you.
