Physics Tutor Part Time

Position: Physics Tutor (Contract, Part Time)
We are looking for a Physics Tutor to deliver GCSE and A Level Physics to a small number of SEN learners, typically aged 16–18.

This role is approximately 10 hours per week and is offered on an initial 6-month contract, with the potential to extend.

Although the teaching hours are part-time, you must be available Monday to Friday between 9am and 3pm, as sessions will be scheduled within these core hours. There may also be occasional sessions outside of typical school hours to support practical or lab-based learning.

Location:

This role is based in Northampton town centre.
Salary: £33,000 per annum full-time (35 hours per week), pro rata for part-time hours.

Hours:

This role is approx. 10 hours per week, which equates to around £9,429 per annum.

What you’ll be doing :

Planning and delivering GCSE and A Level Physics tuition (approximately 10 hours per week)
Teaching 1:1 or small group sessions depending on learner needs
Supporting SEN learners to build confidence and make progress
Preparing learners for exams and improving subject understanding
Adapting delivery to suit individual learning needs
Supporting occasional practical or lab-based learning where required

What we’re looking for:

Strong subject knowledge in Physics at GCSE and A Level
Teaching or tutoring experience (formal or informal)
Experience working with SEN learners is desirable
A recognised teaching/training qualification is desirable
A calm, patient, and learner-centred approach
