About You: This role is ideal for a passionate, inspiring educator ready to deliver engaging English lessons, nurture a love of language, and support students of all abilities. The growing Weavers Academy offers a supportive environment for staff and students alike.
Responsibilities- Plan, deliver and assess creative English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Design and develop curriculum for English-specific skill development, coordinating with the department’s vision.
- Collaborate with colleagues during dedicated curriculum development time (one period per fortnight) to innovate teaching strategies.
- Provide targeted intervention and enrichment, including extra‑curricular activities such as visits from theatre companies and educational trips.
- Participate in continuous professional development and support the department’s CPD programme.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Strong subject knowledge and creative teaching ability.
- Evidence of successful outcomes and student progress at Key Stages 3 and 4.
The department comprises 11 dedicated teachers, inclusive of support for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with mentoring and clear pathways for professional growth. The team follows the AQA exam board for GCSE and A‑level English, with additional A‑level options such as Media Studies.
