Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Salaried GP

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced GP to join the Northamptonshire Rural East & South (NRES) Neighbourhood as part of the NHS New Models of Care Programme.

This post sits within our Neighbourhood Access Service, delivering high-quality same-day and urgent primary care to patients registered across seven GP practices serving approximately 88,900 patients.

You will have a primary base practice, providing a stable main location. However, as part of a neighbourhood model, there will be a requirement to work across other neighbourhood sites and hubs when service needs require. Care will be delivered through a mix of face-to-face and remote consultations, supporting access across the wider neighbourhood population.

The role is offered at 6 sessions per week (0.67 WTE), within a service where full-time is defined as 9 sessions. In addition to same-day access work, you will incorporate a proportion of routine GP appointments into your working day.

You will work autonomously within a supportive multidisciplinary team of GPs, ANPs and senior clinicians, with opportunities to contribute to service development, leadership and education.

The advertised sessional rate is enhanced to reflect that CPD time and costs are funded within the role. This is an inclusive rate, with no separate CPD allowance.

This is an opportunity to be part of a developing neighbourhood model, balancing continuity at a base site with flexible working across Rural East & South Northamptonshire.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will deliver GP clinical sessions, providing same-day and routine primary care appointments.

You will work autonomously to assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients presenting with undifferentiated primary care conditions, using face-to-face and remote consultations as appropriate.

The role includes safe clinical decision-making, review of investigation results, appropriate follow-up, and accurate clinical record keeping in line with professional standards.

You will work collaboratively with GPs, ANPs, nursing and patient services teams to support safe, effective and timely patient care.

The post holder will contribute to clinical governance activities and support ongoing service improvement.
