As Children’s Services are improving, exciting new opportunities have opened in the Children in Care Service based in Northampton, but providing support to families and children, who reside county wide.
We are looking to recruit a Family Support Worker to be part of the team building meaningful relationships with children and their families helping them grow, prosper and achieve. The role is based in Northampton but you will be required to move effectively across the county and beyond if required.

and they can agree a mutually agreeable time to call youThe primary focus of work will be with children and families who are looked after by the Local Authority.
You will need to be self-motivated and have the ability and skills to provide key pieces of direct work to children and families and to work with multi agency colleagues. Working predominantly with children and families who are subject to care proceedings, the work will centre around promoting family time, supporting in the completion of assessment and enabling rehabilitation.

You will have some experience in working with children and families, have the ability to support with assessment based work and good recording skills.
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent you have basic IT skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel.
You are knowledgeable about current legislation related to the jobThis role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Barred List check
