City Commercial was founded just over a year ago with two employees and a massive vision for the commercial market. Today, we are a team of 30, and our expansion plans into 2026 are set to double that figure again. We are changing the face of City Plumbing, evolving from a domestic merchant into a dominant commercial force.

We are looking for thre
e driven Category Managers to join this journey, each taking full ownership of a specific category:
Sanitaryware, Mechanical, or Plant Equipment.

The Role:

As a Category Manager, you aren't just managing products; you are joining an established function where you will handle negotiation, procurement, and pricing for your entire category. You will play a key role in supporting the business in all things category management while delivering a compelling customer offer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Category Ownership:
    Define and manage your category proposition to deliver a compelling customer offer while hitting sales and profit targets.
  • Supplier Leadership:
    Own external supplier relationships and commercial terms to ensure all opportunities are maximised.
  • Strategic

    Collaboration:

    Partner with the Senior Category Manager to define clear range and pricing hierarchies for specific commercial target markets.
  • Internal Influence:
    Manage relationships across Sales, Operations, Supply, Finance, and Marketing to align the business with your category’s development.
  • Mentorship:
    Manage and develop a Category Assistant/Assistant Category Manager, supporting their career aspirations and motivations.
About You:
  • Commercial Acumen: A proven ability to deliver successful category management.
  • Analytical Mindset:
    Strong skills in Excel and sales reporting to drive data-led decisions.
  • Collaboration:

    A "Customer First" ethos and a desire to work with a high-energy, wider team.
