We’re recruiting for a Test Engineering Manager for a newly formed Engineering team within a niche financial services organization. This high‑impact role owns the end‑to‑end test automation suite and drives a quality‑first culture across the organization. You’ll combine hands‑on test automation development with strategic leadership, shaping the overall test strategy and driving a quality‑first culture across the organization.

• Lead all testing activities for projects, transformations, and BAU.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for SaaS products, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Influence tool selection and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform functional and non‑functional testing (performance, security, integration).
• Collaborate with developers, Dev Ops, and product teams to define quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement and shift‑left testing practices.

• Proven experience in test leadership and management, including process improvements.
• Hands‑on experience developing automated test frameworks for APIs and backend services.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Xray, Playwright, Pytest, Pywinauto.
• Strong knowledge of SQL/No
  
  SQL databases, data validation, and CI/CD integration (Git Hub).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments (GCP preferred).
• Understanding of security and performance testing methodologies.
• Bonus:
  Exposure to machine learning pipelines and testing data models.

Location: West Midlands (onsite once a week)

Salary: £50k-£55k + Benefits
