Intensive Engagement Officer - Northampton

Job type: Fixed term until February 2027

Salary: £27,540 per annum

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week (+5 hours paid lunch)

Location: Northampton

Note: Driving license and access to a vehicle are essential as travelling across the region is required.

Who are we looking for?

An inspirational Intensive Engagement Officer who will provide resettlement support to male offenders and ex-offenders, both in custody and in the community, supporting them to overcome barriers to their wellbeing and reintegrate into society. This role involves working collaboratively in a multi-agency setting to maintain professional relationships and ensure confidentiality.

You should have a clear understanding of the support needs of people under Probation supervision and experience in providing information, advice, and guidance to this client group. Delivering interventions in group settings, along with research, analysis, and problem-solving skills, are essential.

You must demonstrate excellent listening and communication skills and be able to respond appropriately to challenging behaviour. You will develop practical, achievable resettlement plans and support the development of interventions delivered alongside these plans.

Essential qualifications include IAG Level 3 or equivalent experience.

A DBS check and a Prison Clearance Check will be required for this role.
