One of the UK’s leading Facilities Management (FM) providers is looking to recruit a Facilities/Maintenance Supervisor to join their major Government contract, covering the South West region (no London).
You will oversee and manage a team of 10–15 engineers, including Electrical, Plumbing, A/C, Gas, etc. This is an off‑the‑tools role focused on paperwork, audits, and effective management of the engineering workforce, reporting directly to the Technical Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established Supervisor or Lead Engineer within FM who is looking to progress within one of the sector’s largest accounts, working for a leader in the built‑environment space.
Key responsibilities include:- Perform supervisory functions typical of a facilities maintenance and utility plant operations team
- Review and evaluate performance to ensure quality standards are met
- Take corrective action to resolve issues
- Understand the building operations rules for the sites under your care, as provided by the Account Manager
- Work with the Facility Manager to ensure efficient utilisation of staff
- Assign tasks for Work Tickets and Preventative Maintenance Work Orders for the O&M team
- Resolve problems within procedural guidelines
- Ensure staff complete PMs and work orders as scheduled each month
- Maintain up‑to‑date and well‑organised Operations & Maintenance documentation (drawings, O&M manuals, site operator manuals, etc.)
- Review, edit, and maintain SOPs/MOPs/EOPs as required
• Maintain effective storage and inventory of spare parts, tools, and service equipment - Dispose of broken tools, unusable parts, and waste materials in line with management instructions
- An engineering background/qualification, ideally with experience in a Lead or Supervisory role
- Ability to pass a Government vetting security check
