Do you have a passion for empowering children and young people?
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Airplay Worker to join our dedicated team at RAF Leeming. You will play a key role in supporting the children and families of the RAF community, helping them thrive through engaging play and youth work activities.
Your Purpose in the Role
You will be crucial to the successful delivery of the RAF Benevolent Fund’s Airplay project. Primarily, you will support the Station Youth Worker in running our engaging programmes:
BEN Clubs (Ages 5-7): Focused play work sessions.
Airplay Youth Sessions (Ages 8-18): Youth work activities.
Airplay Connect: Contributing to our digital platform for young people globally.

Key Responsibilities:Making a Positive Impact
You will be crucial to the successful delivery of the RAF Benevolent Fund’s Airplay project, primarily supporting the Station Youth Worker in running our programmes:
Session Delivery: Primarily supporting and occasionally leading the delivery of play and youth work activities for children and young people aged 5–18.
Creative Programming: Assisting in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of imaginative activities that encourage the active participation of young people, in line with the Airplay and BEN Club Offer.
Programme Scope: Supporting the delivery of BEN Clubs (Ages 5-7) and occasionally Airplay Youth Sessions (Ages 8-18), as well as contributing to the Airplay Connect digital platform.
Safety & Wellbeing: Adhering strictly to safeguarding policies, guidelines, and risk assessments to ensure the wellbeing and safety of all participants and staff, reporting concerns using the correct procedure.
Promoting Voice: Actively involving young people in decision-making processes (participation) to ensure their ideas shape the programme.
Professional Practice: Promoting good, inclusive practice and fully participating in all activities related to the Airplay provision.
Teamwork & Communication: Maintaining effective relationships with colleagues, young people, and their families, attending appropriate meetings, and supporting the Station Youth Worker in compiling regular reports.
Development: Playing an active part in induction, supervision, appraisal processes, and identifying training needs.
