ABOUT YOU
You are an energetic and highly motivated individual who is available to instruct a variety of classes as a Group Fitness instructor. You have an excellent understanding of fitness class facilitation and are skilled at proper and safe use of a variety of equipment. You are a team player who is committed to community recreation and have experience instructing in a community setting.
You are reliable, responsive to customer needs, and excellent at building relationships. You are courteous and effective with the public and enjoy working with a diverse group of people with varying fitness levels. In addition, you are experienced in:
The ideal candidate will have a Group Fitness certification from a recognized provider and a current certification in Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED. Additional certification or experience in facilitating TRX and Bootcamp classes is preferred. There may also be an option to teach these classes outdoors. Previous experience teaching group classes in a community setting. Knowledge of exercise modification for participants with limited mobility.
All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position. The pay for this casual position is $34.80 per hour, based on education and experience, plus 4% vacation pay. Hours may vary and instructors should be prepared to work at all times of the day including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location, which may include outdoor spaces.
