AboutThe Role
As Director, Property Management, you will be responsible for the overall performance, profitability, and tenant satisfaction of a large and high-profile portfolio of commercial properties. You will lead a team of property management professionals and collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure our properties are recognized as best-in-class in the industry. This role requires a visionary leader who can balance day-to-day operations with long-term strategic planning.
You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our portfolio through innovation, sustainability, and a relentless focus on customer service.
- Lead the operational and financial performance of a diverse commercial portfolio in Metro Vancouver.
- Develop and execute long-term strategic plans that enhance asset value, reduce costs, and improve tenant satisfaction.
- Oversee all aspects of property operations including building systems, tenant relations, capital projects, environmental compliance, and life safety.
- Ensure policies, procedures, and best practices are consistently applied across the portfolio.
- Manage annual operating budgets and long-term capital planning.
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the property management team.
- Mentor and develop team members, supporting their career growth with a strong focus on succession planning.
- Champion sustainability and energy management initiatives, ensuring compliance and innovation in environmental practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align property management goals with broader organizational objectives.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in commercial property management, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven success managing large-scale, complex commercial assets, and managing relationships with clients.
- Post-secondary education in business, real estate, or a related field.
- Professional designations such as CPM, RPA, or LEED AP are considered strong assets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and build strong, trust-based relationships.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and capital projects.
- Deep understanding of building operations, tenant relations, and sustainability practices.
- Proficiency in property management systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- A strategic thinker with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results.
The base salary for this position is between $120,000 - $155,000 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation (i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
