AboutThe Role
We are seeking a versatile and proactive Plant Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is a multi‑faceted role that combines skilled mechanical repair with essential plant support duties.
While your primary focus will be maintaining our aggregate equipment (Jaws, Cones, Screeners, Conveyors), this position requires flexibility. You will support the operations crew when needed – whether that means assisting with morning plant start‑ups, fabricating a quick fix to keep production moving, or stepping in to assist with general labor.
The ideal candidate enjoys variety in their workday and takes ownership of the entire production process. You are a “maintenance savant” who can troubleshoot a complex crusher issue in a minute and torch a seized bolt the next. This role goes beyond turning wrenches; it is a role for a knowledgeable team player who is ready to own the production process.
WhatYou’ll Accomplish
- Perform routine maintenance and major repairs on Jaws, Cones, and screening plants, including changing wear liners, replacing screen media, adjusting CSS, inspecting tension rails, and carrying out routine preventative inspections.
- Troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems by replacing idlers, swapping head and tail pulleys, patching belts, adjusting belt scrapers/cleaners, repairing skirt rubber, and addressing other common conveyor issues.
- Inspect, remove, and replace power transmission components and other failed parts, including V‑belts, drive chains, couplings, gearboxes, bearings, motors, and pumps to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose mechanical noises, vibration issues, and heat buildup to identify developing failures before they result in breakdowns.
- Use oxy‑acetylene torches to remove seized bolts, cut liner plate, or demo worn parts as required for repairs.
- Perform minor welding for field repairs—such as patching chutes or securing guards—to provide temporary fixes and keep production moving until a contract welder is available.
- Assist operators with morning plant walk‑arounds, pre‑trips, and greasing/oil‑change schedules to ensure equipment is safe, properly lubricated, and ready to run.
- Support general plant needs by assisting with labor tasks, site cleanup, or operating equipment when required.
- Log all repairs, work orders, and parts usage in the CMMS, and adhere to strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during all maintenance activities.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

- Strong working knowledge of Jaws, Cones, Screeners, and Conveyors.

- Ability to quickly understand new equipment and retain maintenance procedures from operating manuals.
- Technologically adept; comfortable using tablets or mobile devices to navigate and log work in a CMMS.
- Ability to lift and carry tools, parts, or materials up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working at heights on plant walkways and climbing into crusher chambers or chutes for maintenance.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, and shovel for extended periods during maintenance or blasting prep.
