We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to assist with the design of components, assemblies and sub‑systems within the Hydron Mechanical Design Team. They will use engineering techniques to design components and systems and to develop creative solutions to meet the product requirements and improve product performance and durability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical equipment design, procurement, assembly, and review
- Generate component and system‑level engineering specifications
- Justify design decisions through calculation, modelling, and analysis
- Create drawings and 3D models of systems and components
- Participate in design reviews, failure analysis, and design iterations to improve systems
- Develop and test prototypes of systems and components to validate designs
- Prepare manufacturing documents, instructions, operating procedures, assembly details etc.
- Carry out other projects and duties as required
Qualifications:
- Education:
A degree in mechanical engineering recognized in Canada is required - Experience:
Minimum 10 years experience in mechanical design and development - Proficiency with Solidworks 3D CAD software
- Proficiency in reading and generating engineering drawings
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to effectively communicate technical matters
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
- Experience with rotary machine design and dynamics
- Experience with seal design
- Knowledge of and experience with fluid systems, thermodynamics, valves
- General understanding of design standards and manufacturing processes
- Hands‑on engineering craft skills such as machine tool operation
CAD $85,000 - $105,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications
