We are looking for a Leading Construction Specialist to join our global team of experts and work within a multi-disciplinary team that is responsible for performing engineering analysis, design, and technical reports and drawings for various large infrastructure projects across North America. The role is to provide senior advisory support to project teams as it relates to construction.

The position will be based in COWI’s North Vancouver office, travel to client’s offices within North America may be required from time to time based on project needs.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Advise the project team on matters related to construction costs, constructability, construction schedule, risks, delivery methods, and other aspects related to construction of large infrastructure projects
  • Advise the project team on commercial issues, change order management and claims management
  • Collaborate closely with the Client, Owner’s Engineer Team, Design-Builder, Designer, and other Stakeholders during the various phases of the project
  • Contribute expertise to the assigned projects, ensuring adherence to quality systems and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to production and review of design deliverables such as technical memoranda, engineering reports, and construction drawings as it relates to own area of expertise
  • Mentor engineers and transfer knowledge within own area of expertise

On top of that, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Structural Engineering
  • A registered Professional Engineer License (P.Eng.) in BC
  • Key skills include extensive construction knowledge, familiarity with delivering and constructing large infrastructure in North America, and the ability to manage complex projects while ensuring safety and compliance
  • A minimum of 25 years’ experience working with delivering large multi-million infrastructure projects ($100M+)
