Early Years Instructor 1 26017C Casual North Vancouver Recreation & Culture is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families and North Vancouver Recreation & Culture is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families and communities. NVRC offers a wide range of recreation and cultural programs and services to residents of all ages and abilities. We are currently seeking energetic, responsible and highly-motivated individuals to join our dynamic team of Early Years instructors.

ABOUT THE JOB:You will be delivering excellent customer experiences by working closely and cooperatively with parents, caregivers and children 2-5 years (Early Years). You will engage in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities. You will be ensuring children are safe and engaged while promoting a positive, healthy environment.

ABOUT YOU:You are a courteous and effective team player committed to community. You have the ability to implement policies and procedures, as well as work effectively with children, and work closely and cooperatively with parents and facility staff, while providing safe, quality programs. You have experience working with children 2-5 years, and are willing to learn from supervisors and other leaders about strategies to support participation and integration into a group setting, behaviour management, and early childhood development.

You also have strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and problem solving skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:Preferred candidates will have experience leading children 0-5 years in a variety of activities. A current Standard First Aid and CPR
-C certification is required. HIGH FIVE certification (available online through BCRPA) must be taken within 3 months of employment.

All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a condition of employment. The rate of pay for this casual position ranges from $19.19 - $21.32 per hour based on training and experience. Shift lengths vary between 2-6 hours between Monday – Friday, 9am-4pm.
