High School Math Teacher/Tutor at Oxford Learning Centres Inc.

Oxford Learning West Vancouver is seeking part-time teacher-tutors to work with students in our learning centre. This role involves teaching up to three students at a time, both online and in-person, following Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.

• Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels
• Teach online and in-person
• Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in post-lesson notes
• Complete daily student communication updates
• Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification is an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math curriculum (including advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors)

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring math at Grade 9–12 (or equivalent)
• Strong English written and oral communication skills
• Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

• Evenings (3:30pm – 6:30pm)
• Monday to Friday
• This is an in-person position in West Vancouver; relocation packages are not available

• Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory
• Commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through the summer is a plus
• Must be able to commute to the West Vancouver location

Part-time

$21 - $28 / hour
