Overview

General Practitioner – Oncology at Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH). Squamish General Hospital is looking for a dedicated part-time GP-Oncologist to join our collaborative team. The role currently is 0.2 FTE (approximately 12 hours per week for 26 weeks per year) with growth potential as our clinic's treatment capacity expands.

Responsibilities
  • Provide ambulatory care for patients undergoing therapy and those in follow-up, and support inpatient care as needed.
  • Review and write chemotherapy orders; manage adverse reactions and treatment-related side effects.
  • Collaborate with medical oncologists, other specialists, nurses, and clerical staff.
Location & Clinical Context

The local oncology clinic is located within the hospital and requires hospital privileges. You’ll benefit from existing MOA and oncology nursing support, and dedicated office space for patient reviews. Squamish General Hospital is a 25-bed acute care facility with comprehensive diagnostic, laboratory, imaging, and supportive services.

Qualifications
  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) – Full
  • Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) – Mandatory
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
  • BCCA GPO training required (local candidates may receive REAP support to complete training)
