The RoleWe’re looking for a Senior Accountant who thrives in a dynamic, client-focused environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional financial insight and service.
You will play a key role in managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance, and supporting clients through accurate, data-driven financial leadership. Working closely with our Managers and Partners, you’ll help fast-growth companies make informed financial decisions with confidence.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure all accounting records, financial data, and supporting documentation are accurate, up to date, and compliant with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes within reporting deadlines for assigned clients.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and MD&As, providing insights and recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Manage the preparation and delivery of:
- Corporate and personal tax returns
- Insurance policy renewals
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of departmental budgets
- Collaborate with Managers and Partners to build strong, trust-based client relationships.
- Provide mentorship and review work from junior accounting staff when needed.
- CPA designation (or actively pursuing it).
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a public accounting or advisory firm.
- Strong technical knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and tax preparation (corporate and personal).
- Proficiency with cloud-based accounting tools (e.g., Quick Books Online, Xero); experience with R365 is considered an asset, along with advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
- French language proficiency is an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a client-first mindset — you take pride in delivering clarity and value.
