Overview

Part-Time Maintenance Operative - Royal Quays Marina, North Shields

Hours:

30 per week

Supporting a well-established marina in North Shields with the recruitment of a Part-Time Maintenance Operative. If you enjoy practical, hands-on work and like the idea of spending your days by the water, this could be a fantastic fit. This role sits within a friendly, safety-focused team and plays a key part in keeping the marina and boatyard safe, compliant, and well presented for berth holders and visitors.

It s a varied, active position ideal for someone with solid maintenance experience and a proactive approach.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out practical maintenance tasks including painting, basic carpentry, minor plumbing, and site repairs.
  • Work on maintaining safety, compliance, and the presentation of the marina and boatyard.
  • Operate with a proactive approach to upkeep and safety in a hands-on environment.
Requirements
  • Practical maintenance experience—general repairs or a relevant trade background
  • The ability to work independently and use your initiative
  • Strong awareness of health & safety and safe working practices
  • Experience with typical maintenance tasks such as painting, basic carpentry, minor plumbing, and site repairs
  • A full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Experience with in a marina, boatyard, or similar environment (desirable)
  • Experience operating plant or boat hoists (advantageous, with training provided if needed)
