Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Part‑time Support Workers to join our incredible team in North Shields, Newcastle upon Tyne.
As part of the team you will support people with learning disabilities and autism to live independent and active lives. The service is comprised of a five‑bedroom property and four independent flats all within the same street. The people we support have a wide range of support needs and interests, which will make your role varied and interesting. You will be supporting people with everyday tasks such as maintaining their homes, supporting with medication, personal care, social activities, cooking and attending appointments.
Qualifications- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- Part‑time: 20 hrs or 16 hrs per week.
- Days:
Between 07:00 – 22:00. - All our services are 24‑hour care. We prepare the rotas at least four weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life.
- Sleep‑in is available with an enhanced flat‑rate payment of £63.70.
- All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
