A secondary school in North Shields is seeking a confident and knowledgeable Computing Teacher to join their department immediately.
This is a structured, well-led school where behaviour expectations are clear and learning time is protected. The Computing curriculum is carefully sequenced, with a focus on digital literacy, programming and preparing students for GCSE Computer Science.
If you are confident delivering both theory and practical computing lessons in a calm, well-managed environment, this role offers strong departmental support.
The DepartmentThe Computing department is organised and forward-thinking, with shared schemes of work and clear assessment systems across KS3 and KS4.
You will be joining a team that:
- Delivers structured programming units (e.g. Python or similar)
- Teaches core computing principles and computational thinking
- Prepares GCSE Computer Science cohorts effectively
- Maintains high expectations for focus and independent work
- Collaborates closely with Maths and Science departments
There is a strong emphasis on technical accuracy and exam preparation.
The RoleAs a Computing Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teach programming, data representation and computer systems
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations
- Differentiate for mixed-ability classes
- Maintain strong behaviour management
Track and monitor student progress
This is a full teaching role including planning, marking and assessment.
Who This Role Is Ideal For- Qualified Teachers (QTS)
- ECTs seeking a structured and supportive department

- Teachers confident delivering GCSE content
- Individuals with strong subject knowledge and classroom presence

Pay & Benefits- £163 – £252.52 per day (aligned with MPS/UPS)
