PE Teacher

A secondary school in North Shields is seeking an enthusiastic and confident PE Teacher to join their team immediately.

The PE department is active, organised and ambitious for both participation and performance. Lessons are structured, equipment is managed effectively and there is a strong culture of teamwork within the faculty.

You will be joining a department that:

• Delivers a broad and balanced KS3 and KS4 curriculum
• Prepares students for GCSE PE (where applicable)
• Promotes competitive sport and enrichment
• Maintains high expectations for kit, conduct and effort
• Encourages whole‑school participation in sport

There may also be opportunities to contribute to extracurricular clubs and fixtures.

As a PE Teacher, you will:

• Deliver structured practical lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Maintain high expectations around behaviour and participation
• Plan and assess effectively in line with departmental systems
• Support GCSE cohorts where required
• Promote teamwork, resilience and discipline
• Contribute to enrichment and extracurricular provision

You must be confident managing large groups in practical settings while maintaining safety and control.

• Qualified Teachers (QTS)
• ECTs seeking strong behaviour systems and structure

Strong classroom and field management is essential.
