A secondary school in North Shields is looking for a confident, resilient Behaviour & Inclusion Mentor to join their pastoral team immediately.

This is a key support role within the school. You will work directly with students who need additional structure, guidance and intervention to remain engaged in education. The leadership team is visible, behaviour systems are clear, and there is a strong focus on consistency and accountability.

£95 – £115 per day (PAYE) | Full-Time | Immediate Start

Support staff are integral to the school’s inclusion strategy, not peripheral. You will be trusted with real responsibility.

As a Behaviour & Inclusion Mentor, you will:

• Provide targeted 1:1 support for students with behavioural or SEMH needs

• De-escalate situations calmly and professionally

• Support students during transitions, lessons and social times

• Deliver structured mentoring and behaviour interventions

• Monitor progress and report back to pastoral leads

• Build consistent, professional relationships that encourage accountability

You will work closely with Heads of Year, SENCO and safeguarding staff to ensure students remain in education and make progress.

• Graduates considering careers in teaching, youth work or educational psychology

• Experienced TAs looking to move into a more specialist behaviour role

• Candidates with youth work, coaching or support backgrounds

• Individuals confident maintaining boundaries while remaining approachable

• Those who can remain calm, firm and consistent

• £95 – £115 per day depending on experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
