A secondary school in North Shields is looking for a confident, resilient Behaviour & Inclusion Mentor to join their pastoral team immediately.

This is a key support role within the school. You will work directly with students who need additional structure, guidance and intervention to remain engaged in education. The leadership team is visible, behaviour systems are clear, and there is a strong focus on consistency and accountability.

The Role

As a Behaviour & Inclusion Mentor, you will:

  • Provide targeted 1:1 support for students with behavioural or SEMH needs

  • De-escalate situations calmly and professionally

  • Support students during transitions, lessons and social times

  • Deliver structured mentoring and behaviour interventions

  • Monitor progress and report back to pastoral leads

  • Build consistent, professional relationships that encourage accountability

You will work closely with Heads of Year, SENCO and safeguarding staff to ensure students remain in education and make progress.
