Purpose of the Position
Responsible for driving revenue growth and managing the branch's P&L by successfully managing all functions to exceed business goals. Drives the culture and sets expectations for safety, work ethic, professionalism, ownership of the business and shares pride in the branch and its successes.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Supervises EPMs, Field Supervisors, and the branch administration team, providing direction, training, and communicating company policies and objectives. Includes supervising performance management, progressive discipline, and ensuring compliance of all branch personnel with company directives and initiatives.
- Leads the company's commitment to safety and administers the safety program, performing safety audits when necessary, stressing safety importance, and chairing the branch safety committee.
- Leads the company's commitment to customer service by developing long‑term relationships and delivering exceptional communication.
- Improves performance and quality of branch operations through collaboration with finance to track performance, inspect projects for overall quality, and accurately estimate jobs.
- Drives revenue performance and growth through annual budgeting of new sales goals, identifying prospects, and holding accountability for performance.
- Ensures the branch's daily operations run efficiently and cost effectively, meeting financial commitments such as target EBITDA and gross margin goals.
- Manages profit and loss and uses accounting reports to measure performance, ensuring monthly budgetary goals are met and preparing the yearly budget for presentation to leadership.
- Works with the team to increase the customer base, handling sales management responsibilities where appropriate, including meetings and presentations to current and potential customers, resolving issues, and participating in estimating and bidding for large or complex jobs to ensure profitability. Reviews and approves revenue and margins prior to submitting sales proposals.
- Maintains a strong working knowledge of the overall market area, including backlog, market penetration, outstanding bids, new business, special projects, staffing requirements, and market competition to position the branch for success.
- Maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of federal, state, and local industry code requirements and employment and labor laws.
- Ensures correct execution of contracts and timely completion of billing.
- Reviews, approves invoices, accounts receivables, write‑offs, and credits, and assists in collecting problem accounts. Leads meetings to review all accounts receivable over $60,000 and assigns action plans.
- Interfaces with corporate and other departments; when requested, represents the company in legal proceedings.
- Consults with corporate teams in operations, business development, finance, safety, and human resources, ensuring all HR matters are coordinated.
- Responsible for multiple levels of approvals, including purchasing, contract execution, modifications, and price adjustments.

Typing on a keyboard; reading and verifying data in small print; sitting for up to 8 hours per day; talking on the phone; may require visits to job sites with exposure to typical construction site hazards.

Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; minimum of 3 years management experience.
Preferred Skill Set
Thorough knowledge of the industry and general management methods; proven success managing and developing workforce talent; ability to interpret extensive technical instructions, spreadsheets, diagrams, and handle abstract and concrete variables; working knowledge of business accounting and P&L statements.
